        Sunt surse de energie care functioneaza atunci cind sunt luminate si
au structura asemanatoare redresoarelor uscate. Se cunosc celule fotovoltaice
cu seleniu, sulfura de taliu sau sulfura de argint!</pre>
<pre>        O celula  cu seleniu, consta dintr-un suport, o placa de Fe, Cu, Al
etc. pe care s-a depus un strat de seleniu cristalin, acoperit cu o pelicula
subtire de Au sau Ag, transparenta.
        Celula se acopera cu lac higroscopic impotriva efectelor atmosferice
sau mecanice.</pre>
<pre>        Au in structura lor un fotocatod, care, la interactiunea cu un
fascicol de lumina, transforma energia luminoasa in energie electrica.</pre>

<pre>        Emisiunea fotoelectrica este produsa cu usurinta la catozii costituiti
din pelicule metalice foarte subtiri.</pre>
<pre>        Fotocatozi din metale pure:
        Metalele se aplica prin pelicule de citeva straturi atomice pe
suporturi de sare gema, acetate de celuloza, cuart, cupru, fluorina, argint,
foi de mica. Straturile se obtin prin evaporare, pulverizare sau distilare.</pre>
<pre>Prin iluminarea jonctiunii p-n, in regiunea p se genereaza perechi electron-
gol. Electronii difuzeaza prin jonctiunea p-n in regiunea n, iar golurile

pozitiva, iar regiunea n se incarca cu sarcina electrica negativa, cea ce

        O proprietate importanta a celulelor cu vid este lipsa aproape totala
a inertiei; cand ajung la curentul de saturatie sunt insensibile la marimea
tensiunii de lucru, fotocatodul celulei nu este distrus nici la tensiuni mari,
iar efectul de obosire este putin important.
        Celulele cu gaz sunt mai sensibile decit cele cu vid, dar prin marirea
tensiunii de lucru se ajunge la producerea de 'descarcari</pre>

<p>Insa in curand or sa apara panouri solare cu o eficienta mult mai mare datorita unei tehnologii noi, de focalizare a energiei solare, elaborata de <a href="http://www.solfocus.com" title="solfocus">solfocus</a>.
